About Shad

My family & I have lived in Ivins for over 20 years—first from 2002 to 2009, and again from 2012 to the present. I’m a father, a husband, and a small business owner who cares deeply about this community. Over the years, I’ve worked hard to build a business, support my family, and serve others where I can.

I believe strongly that all differences of opinion and wishes can be resolved with reasonable negotiation with consideration and respect for one another. The right of free speech in this country is sacred and must give space for all to be heard whether we agree or not.

Leadership Development Through Leadership Dixie | I recently completed many years of learning, growth and service in Leadership Dixie, a highly appraised local leadership development organization. I graduated in the class of 2021. It was then an honor to serve on the Board of Directors, and be elected to serve as the Chair for the graduating class of 2024. My role as Past Chair concluded in June (2025), and opened the door for me to offer my time and support in another area. Ivins City Council felt like the right move.

Business & Trade Associations | I’ve been a business owner for more than 23 years of my 31 year career as a Certified Kitchen Designer. I am a partner in HingeWorks, providing cabinetry and appliances for local building contractors. I have also had the privilege of helping establish multiple chapters of my professional association, both the National Kitchen & Bath Association, where I have served in multiple leadership roles, including Chapter President twice. I have also served on many committees with Southern Utah Home Builders Association. I’ve also served as president of a homeowners association in Alaska, where I stepped up when leadership was lacking and worked to improve the community.

Local Political Service | In addition, I’ve been involved in local politics as a state and county delegate for the Republican Party. Through these experiences, I’ve learned the value of collaboration and the importance of listening to others, especially when it comes to making decisions that impact families and communities.

Moral Base | I’m also an Eagle Scout with extensive leadership experience in the Boy Scouts of America, and I serve willingly in my faith, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I consider my relationship and allegiance to God my highest and most important.

I’m not running for office because I have all the answers. I’m running because I want to be a part of positive change and help with creative solutions based on what’s best for the future of Ivins. I believe in being open to learning, working hard, and being accountable to the people I serve.

This campaign isn’t about me—it’s about us, as a community. If elected, I will approach issues with a focus on thoughtful, collaborative problem-solving, and a deep respect for the values we share as residents of Ivins; and to the amazing work of those that have served before, including their beautiful vision incorporated into the city's General Plan.
